We offer screening mammography in a pleasant setting with caring staff. It is important to have a screening mammogram and yearly breast exam from your healthcare provider.

Bone Density
|
Bone mineral density measures the density of your hip and spine and compares it with that of a young healthy adult. Osteoporosis can place you at high risk for debilitating fractures. Treatments are available to increase bone density and reduce fracture risk. This is a painless test using about 1/10th the radiation of a chest x-ray.

Fetal monitoring and limited ultrasounds by nurse clinicians in a warm friendly non-clinical environment. The testing center requires a referral from your maternity care provider and is specifically used for women whose pregnancies are at higher risk.

Sweet Success (Diabetes Management)
|
Is a team-approach to diabetes in pregnancy that is part of a statewide maternal child health program. It includes health education, nutritional counseling, and social work appointments. It encompasses preconception and some postpartum care. The program is available for women with Type I or Type II, gestational diabetes and carbohydrate intolerance.

The Prenatal Diagnosis Center of California Pacific Medical Center uses advanced technology and procedures coupled with genetic counseling to identify and treat certain genetics disorders and birth defects in the developing fetus. They have a satellite served here on Wednesdays. They can be reached for appointments at (415) 750-6400.

Lactation Consulting/Supplies

We offer inpatient, outpatient, and telephone breastfeeding assistance, as well as weekly breastfeeding postpartum workshops and antenatal breastfeeding classes.
Breastfeeding supplies include clothes, bras, pillows, and breast pumps for sale or rental.

A retail store within the Women's Health Resource Center. It carries products, which are difficult to find, require instruction to operate, or may be embarrassing to ask for. We also have books, tapes, teas, tinctures, and vitamins, exercise equipment, incontinence products, and women's intimate products.
